Overview
Kailash Mansarovar is one of the most spiritually uplifting pilgrimages in the Himalayas. It starts from Kathmandu crossing the Nepal-Tibet border to the sacred region of Mount Kailash and the holy waters of Lake Mansarovar. It is said that Lord Shiva lives there and Mount Kailash is revered by Hindu Buddhist Jain, as well as Bon. It is the spiritual center for devotees of all backgrounds, as well as a place to have an adventurous pilgrimage in one of the most remote and unspoiled areas on earth. The route through Kerung (Kyirong) presents hikers with a great variety of natural and cultural attractions. It goes from the mid-hill villages of Nepal through the dramatic Himalayan border crossing and then onto the vast open Tibetan plateau where the snow-capped Himalayas are replaced by Tibet's wide skies and turquoise lakes.
Trekking Mart has designed a safe, well-tempered, and extremely valuable Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Kerung for the pilgrims. We have adjusted each step of the trip starting from acclimatization stops to the rest days, so that the pilgrims can be physically and spiritually at their best to tackle high altitude challenges, as well as ensuring the safety is the main concern throughout. Your tour will bring you from Kathmandu through Syabrubesi, across the border to Kerung, and then through Saga and the open Tibetan plateau before reaching the holy Lake Mansarovar and the town of Darchen, the entry point of the Kailash parikrama. Following that, pilgrims perform the sacred 3-day kora around Mount Kailash, which involves crossing the high Dolma La Pass at 5 630m strolling by Shiva Tsal and Gauri Kund, and experiencing the mountain from all the different perspectives it reveals. Don't miss such a fantastic experience, with Trekking Mart, the chance to make memories of a lifetime.
