Itinerary
A representative from Trekking Mart will be waiting at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu to greet you and take you to your hotel to rest up from your long flight. Your Trekking Mart representative will assist you with checking in to your hotel and then you can spend some free time resting up from the trip or checking out the local area. At night you will join us for a traditional Nepalese welcome dinner at a local restaurant with authentic Nepalese food with a cultural dance performed (both the food and dance will give you a good introduction to the culture and hospitality of Nepal).
Meals: Dinner only
Our first full day is for a sightseeing of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Bouddhanath stupa. You will be guided by a professional city guide who will explain the history, spirituality and cultural background of these incredible sites. In the afternoon, you will do trek preparation and some pre-trip discussion. Overnight stay in your hotel.
Meals: Breakfast only
After morning breakfast, we will set off on our trip to the village of Syabrubesi. The journey will start with driving along the scenic, winding Trishuli River through numerous local market areas (Trishuli Bazaar, Ramche and Dhunche) where you will be able to see breathtaking terraced hillsides and beautiful, lush forest and expansive mountainsides. This leg of the journey is an adventure in and of itself. We will also see the beauty of rural Nepal and rural Nepali people while travelling on this route. Once we arrive at Syabrubesi we will have time to settle into lodge for a night of rest as we prepare for tomorrow’s trek.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
This is our first trekking day. Breakfast is followed by crossing several suspension bridges and dense forests of oak, bamboo and rhododendron along the Langtang Khola River. This part of trail is very rich in rare flora and fauna. This is the ancient habitat of the endanger Red Panda along with wild Himalayan Bears, yellow-throated Martens and many more animals of the region. The beehive and hot spring can be the additional places of attraction. By making heartily attachment with all these diversities, our trail rises upwards. The trail is up and down up to the Lama Hotel but not much challenging. It is a good day to get our legs in shape for the adventure ahead.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Our destination is Langtang Valley (a heavenly site surrounded by the Mountains). After breakfast, Lama hotel will be back in our sight. Our gradual uphill and downhill trail offers us various ecological & geographical features which include impressive waterfalls, magnetic view of Langtang Lirung and many more. Moreover, the trail heads towards the valley by crossing the timberlines, lined with prayer wheels and many water driven mills. All these assets greet us to the Langtang valley which was settled by the Tibetan people centuries ago. Overnight stay at Langtang Valley.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner
As soon as the trek starts, we pass through some small villages of traditional stone-build houses. The path before us passes through huge open lands surrounded by rocky hills. This whole area is famous for the delicious taste of local Yak cheese and curd. There is nothing richer than yak milk and the flavor of the cheese and curd is legendary. During this day, we will observe the biggest Mani wall of Nepal. Mani walls are Tibetan Buddhist and reflect in stone the prayers of the faithful. Today we will have short leg effort which allows us to enjoy the silver sparks & acclimatize of the high altitude. Our legs take a rest by Kyanjin Gompa where we spend two nights.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
We will take a rest day because our bodies need to begin their adjustments to the new elevation before continuing on with our climb to Yala Peak. Trekking Mart takes Altitude Mountain Sickness (AMS) very seriously and we know the best way to avoid it is by allowing our bodies 24 ours to adjust to the thinner mountain air.
While we may use this day to go for either a hike further up the mountain to enjoy views of Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri. Such places will allow us to see glaciers along with the serenity and to breath the pure mountain air. We can also choose to visit Kyanjin Gompa and see their historic monastery and local cheese making facility. Both of these activities will not only assist our acclimatization process but will also make tomorrow’s journey much easier. Tonight we will enjoy a second night at Kyanjin Gompa.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
After morning breakfast, we will trek towards Yala Peak Base Camp. The trail is gradually up through the rocky glaciers with the majesty scenes of the Langtang Himalayas. Reaching the base camp, we will enjoy the breathtaking views of mountains. It is here we make final preparations and training for the summit attempt. We will stay overnight in tented camp at Base Camp.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Today is the ultimate highlight of trip, we start to climb Yala Peak early in the morning. After summit of Yala Peak, we will have a wonderful view of the two highest mountains in Tibet, Shishapangma and Langtang Lirung, as well as the four high mountains in Nepal including Dorje Lakpa and Ganchenpo. This will be an unforgettable experience while taking photos at the top and enjoying the stunning vistas of all of the other high, snow-capped peaks surrounding us. We will proceed to descend back to Kyanjin Gompa where we will spend the night.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
This day we back track to Lama Hotel. As the trail covers mostly the down hills, we can easily cover what took us 2 days up, now just in 5-6 hours. All the way back we re-sight our eyes to all those fantastic mountain views and obviously we will. In the slippery downhill we suggested to descend slowly with necessary care. Overnight stay at Lama Hotel.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
On our final day of the trek, we walk down to Syabrubesi. We descent down along the dense forest hearing anonymous sounds of Langtang Khola River. Since, the whole journey is mostly downhill, we can easily make the way. Overnight stay at Sybrubasi.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Early morning, we drive back to Kathmandu. The Trishuli River has scenic views that you can enjoy during this drive. On arriving in Kathmandu, you will return to your hotel, where you can rest and will have free time ahead for shopping and roaming around before our farewell dinner.
Meals: Breakfast and dinner
Your representative of Trekking Mart will pick you up from the hotel. At about 3 hours prior to your flight time, we transfer you to the airport to fly to your onward destination.
