Itinerary
A representative from Trekking Mart will welcome you at the arrival gate of Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. You will be taken to your hotel to enjoy relaxing after your long flight. In the evening Trekking Mart will take you to enjoy a traditional welcome dinner. You will enjoy authentic Nepali cuisine with fantastic cultural dance presentation.

Our second day is for a sightseeing tour to several of the cultural UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu city. You will be guided by a professional city guide who will explain the history and culture as well as the religious significance of these four sites. The sightseeing covers Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath & Kathmandu Durbar Square which distinctly clarifies the religious and cultural diversity and integrity of the country. Later in the day, we will give you the detail briefing about the trek ahead, to do trek preparation.

fter early morning breakfast, transfer to airport and fly to Lukla. This short, 30 minutes scenic flight takes you over incredible Himalayan ranges with snowcapped peaks the penetrate boldly the Himalayan skies. Look for landscapes and mountain villages below. On arriving at Lukla, our actual trekking starts. Due to the higher altitude, we make a short hike today as we make our way to the village of Phakding where we will spend the night.

Today's trek will take about 5-6 hours as we make our way to the Sherpa capital: Namche Bazaar. From Phakding, the trail goes up through the aromatic pine forest along the Dudh Koshi River. We cross the famous Hillary suspension bridge plus many more suspension bridges. The huge Mt. Thamserku (6,618m) rises just in front of us. On passing Benkar, Chumao and Monjo village, we come to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. Ahead we meet Jorsale village before reaching Namche Bazaar. From around the Chautara we get the first sight of Mt. Everest in the distance. Even from here, it is a massive sight. Namche Bazaar is the main trading center of the Khumbu region and also a main gateway to Mt. Everest. Stay two nights in Namche Bazaar.

Today we take a day of rest at Namche Bazaar to acclimatize our body with the higher altitude. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) can be very serious, yet the easiest way to prevent is to allow your body to adjust to the thinner mountain air. Today we take short hikes around Namche Bazaar or up to the picturesque village of Thame. Namche Bazaar is unique for a mountain village. It’s a rare town in the Himalayas with the availability of modern facilities as like shops, market, ATMs, Internet cafes and government offices. Be sure to visit the Sherpa Museum. Engage in conversations with the Sherpa residents as you learn about their culture and what its’ like living one the roof of the world.

From Namche Bazaar we ascend up along the incredibly spectacular trail that offers amazing views along the way. The huge Mt. Thamserku gives welcome smile from our right. At far in the horizon; Everest, Nupse, Lhotse and Ama Dablam stand proudly competing to touch the sky. We will also enjoy lush green forest above the Dudh Koshi River and trace to the village of Phorse. Overnight here.

Morning breakfast is followed by crossing of the suspension bridge above the Dudh Koshi River. The Dudh Koshi drains the Khumbu region. Its name means “Milk River” because of its milky colour. In the uphill trail, we encounter many waterfalls, rhododendron forests, and amazing landforms. On passing the villages of Dhole, Labarma, Luza, and many other small ones, we reach Machhermo for an overnight stop. Enjoy the majestic view of Cho Oyu, Thamserku, and Kangtega.

The Valley of the Dudh Koshi River widens as we ascend upward. On passing many chortens and Phang village, we reach the south edge of the huge Ngozumba glacier. On the steep ascent, we get to see the first mountain lake, ‘Longpunga Tso,' the second, ‘Taujung Tso,' and the third, Gokyo Tso.' On the bank of Gokyo Lake, the Gokyo settlement sits under the lofty peak of Cho Oyu. We enjoy two nights here in Gokyo village.

Today is the mountaintop experience! The Gokyo Valley itself offers many breathtaking glacial lakes, mountain peaks and amazing local culture. As we climb Mt. Gokyo Ri, we will have the finest view of the Everest region. Mt. Gokyo Ri is a trekking peak and takes around four hours to climb without any mountain gear required. Mt. Gokyo Ri is the best viewpoint to admire the lofty peaks of Mt. Everest, Cho-oyu, Makalu, Lhotse, Nupse and numerous others. Back to Gokyo for overnight stay today.

Today on the back step, we descend down on passing Nepal’s largest glacier 'Ngozumba'. As the whole trek is along downhill, we reach the little village of Dole to stop today. Re-sight the extreme view of all those mountains from all the way back.

As we continue descending down, the hills become lush with green plants. On retracing the way along Dudh Koshi River, we return to Namche Bazaar. After the remote life of about a week, we again find the access of modern society here. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Morning breakfast is followed by beginning our trek towards Lukla valley. On descending along steep & rocky trail through lush green forest, we leave Himalayan giants behind us. Because of downhill, we can easily make our way back to the Lukla airport. Overnight rest in Lukla.

Finally, a day with no trekking as we’ll take a scenic morning flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival, transfer to the selected hotel. Enjoy the pleasing day rest in your hotel or doing some shopping or sightseeing in Kathmandu.

Today is the last day of our mutual journey. If your time permits, do some last-minute shopping or explore around. You will be taken to airport at about three hours prior of your departure flight. Trekking Mart hopes you enjoyed the trek and also expects your next visit in Nepal.

All travelers (except Indian nationals) must have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in Nepal.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended, especially for trekking and climbing activities. Your insurance should cover emergency medical treatment and evacuation. Although it is possible to travel without insurance, Trekking Mart requires a written declaration stating that you accept full responsibility if you choose not to have coverage.
The climate of Nepal is largely influenced by the monsoon season, resulting in distinct travel periods throughout the year:
Dry Season: October to May
Monsoon Season: June to September
The best times to visit are October–November and March–May, when Himalayan views are at their clearest and the landscapes are especially vibrant. From February to May, warmer temperatures make high-altitude trekking more comfortable and enjoyable.
Trekking in Nepal requires a good level of physical fitness, as it involves long walking hours on uneven, and often steep, terrain.
To prepare for your trek, the following are recommended:
Regular physical exercise (walking, hiking, cardio training)
Participation in sports or endurance activities
Yoga or flexibility training
It is also advisable to consult your physician for a full medical check-up prior to travel to ensure you are fit for trekking.
No vaccinations are mandatory for entry into Nepal. However, travelers may consider the following vaccinations based on personal health needs, travel plans, and medical advice:

Gamma Globulin (for short-term protection against certain infections, such as hepatitis A)

All Trekking Mart trek leaders are trained in first aid and carry essential medical equipment. However, clients are strongly advised to bring a personal first-aid kit to handle minor health issues during the trek.

Currency exchange services are available at Tribhuvan International Airport and throughout Kathmandu, including banks and licensed exchange counters.
When trekking in remote areas, ATMs and card facilities are often unavailable. Therefore, it is recommended to carry sufficient cash (in Nepalese Rupees) to cover:
