Overview
The name Langtang is a combination of the Tibetan words “Lang” (yak) and “Tang” (pasture), which means “Yak Pasture". Langtang Valley is a beautiful valley located in the central-north part of Nepal that has often been called “the Switzerland of the Himalayas”. While not a big valley, it is incredibly picturesque. Langtang Valley is the closest Himalayan region to Kathmandu Valley, filled with an exceptional blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and Himalayan adventure. The trekking route is adorned with some of the most magnificent views of the Langtang Range, a verdant landscape, alpine forests, beautiful glacial lakes, and Tibetan peoples and their unique lifestyle. The Langtang Valley Trekking is a memorable 10-day package of forests, valleys, and hill villages. Trekking Mart is pleased to be able to offer such a rewarding trek that is close to Kathmandu.
The journey starts with a few hours' drive from Kathmandu to Sybrubesi. The actual trek starts following the raging Langtang River across the dense forest of Langtang National Park, which eventually takes us to Langtang village (3,430 m) and Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m). Kyanjin Gompa is the spiritual and picturesque center of the Langtang area. Langtang Valley is greatly influenced by the Tibetan lifestyle; locals are the descendants of Tibetan origin. Varieties of rhododendron, majestic waterfalls, bamboo forests, snow-capped mountains, and hair-raising landscapes make you walk a diverse experience. Join us and entertain your adventurous life with adventure walks in the fresh mountain air.Langtang Valley Trek offers pleasant experiences with expansive Himalayan views and varied landscapes, regardless of your level of experience.

Itinerary
When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, a representative from Trekking Mart will welcome you and arrange for you to be taken to your hotel. In the evening, we will have a dinner in a traditional Nepali restaurant where we can eat authentic Nepali cuisine and have a short cultural program and presentation as well. The perfect end to the start of a perfect trip to the “roof of the world”.
Meals: Dinner only
Our second day, Trekking Mart takes you to some of the cultural UNESCO heritage sites of Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Valley is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and we will be showing you a few of them. Our professional city guide will guide you to the spiritual landmarks including Kathmandu Durbar Square: a home of living goddess, Swayambhunath & Boudhanath: Buddhist stupas and Pashupatinath: the most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal. From your guide you will learn much about the amazing Nepalese culture, history and religion. While after the tour, there will be pre-trip discussion and finalizing official procedures as well. Meet your trek leaders, make some arrangements and be ready for your adventure to the Himalayas.
Meals: Breakfast only
Our adventure journey begins with drive to Sybrubesi, along the northwestern hill of Kathmandu. Enjoy the scintillating nature, village and town, Himalayan views and mountain lifestyle while passing through rivers, terraced fields and rustic villages. Lunch at Trishuli Bazaar and on passing through Dhunche (1,960m), we descent down to Sybrubesi to spend a night.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
On our first trekking day, we cross several suspension bridges following the Langtang river. We pass through dense oak forest of Langtang National Park along the up-down trail to reach the village of Bamboo (1,970m) for lunch. We trek couple of hours more to reach Lama Hotel.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Our morning tea and breakfast is followed by steady climb up along a dense forest and through the villages. Today we leave the tree line behind and get to appreciate the invitation of the beautiful Nepalese Himalayas with open heart. In front of us is the sublime Mt. Langtang Lirung (7,227m) which seems marvelous to behold. Pass by Ghodatabela (3,030m), Chyamki village (3,230m), chortens, water mills, prayer wheels and Mani walls before reaching beautiful Langtang village.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Today is an easy day. We make short treks with slight uphill and downhill. We will pass by many small plateaus, the biggest Mani wall in Nepal and yak postures. Since it is really a high altitude, take your time to walk slowly and acclimatize your body. Kyanjin Gompa is another wonderful land of Langtang surrounded by Himalayas.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Early in the morning you will have tea & breakfast and start hiking to Tserko Ri. This is best chance to feel the mountain environment and see the sparking mornings here in the mountains. From Tserko Ri you can see the brilliant snows of the glaciers. This is perhaps the best place to see Langtang Lirung (7,227m), Langtang II (6,596m), Yala peak (5,500m) and many more majestic mountains. Returning Kyanjin Gompa, we proceed down to Langtang village for overnight stay.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Today we repeat the downhill trek all the way to Syabrubesi. We descend down along the dense forest hearing the rushing sounds of Langtang Khola river. Since the whole journey is mostly downhill, we can easily make the way to our next destination.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
This day you will say bye to this wonderland. By the completion of trek and gaining the lifetime experience you drive back to Kathmandu. On arriving in Kathmandu, you will transfer to your hotel and will have free time ahead for shopping and roaming around before our farewell dinner.
Meals: Breakfast and dinner
About 3 hours prior to your flight time, Trekking Mart will transfer you to the airport to fly to your next destination. Before you leave Nepal, be sure to talk to your friends at Trekking Mart to discuss future trips to Nepal and beyond. You’ve only seen a tip of the proverbial iceberg – and Trekkng Mart is your gateway to the world.
