Itinerary

Day 1

A representative from Trekking Mart welcomes you at the arrival gate of Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Then you will be taken to a selected hotel, and the rest of the day will be spent relaxing. In the evening, we offer you a welcome dinner in an outstanding Nepali restaurant, where you can enjoy a Nepalese cultural dance presentation as well. Stay at Hotel Aloft, a wonderful five-star hotel in the capital city of Nepal.

Meal included: Dinner only

Day 2

Our second day is for a sightseeing tour to several of the cultural UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the ancient city of Kathmandu. An expert, trained professional city guide will guide us to sacred Hindu temples, Buddhist shrines, and historical monuments as you become acquainted with the amazing Nepalese culture and traditions. Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath stupa, and their art and architecture are our center of attraction. Thereafter, Trekking Mart will organize a trek orientation program and also assist you on trekking preparation (equipment’s packing, etc). Stay at Hotel Aloft (5-star)

Meal included: Breakfast only

Day 3

After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the airport and fly to Lukla. These 30-minute scenic flights over incredible Himalayan ranges offer a bird’s-eye view of the landscapes and villages. This flight takes you across the backbone of the mighty Himalaya. At Lukla, you’ll meet all crew members and begin trekking northward to Phakding village. Stay in Yeti Mountain Home (a luxury lodge).

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Information about the Lukla Flight:

During peak trekking season (March, April, May, October, and November), flights to Lukla often depart from Ramechhap (Manthali) instead of Kathmandu due to airport traffic. In this case, travellers must depart Kathmandu around 12:30 a.m. for an approximately five-hour drive to Ramechhap to catch their flight on your trek departure date. Other than peak seasons, flights usually operate directly from Kathmandu.

Lukla flights are weather-dependent and can be delayed, so we strongly recommend adding at least 2 extra days to your trip to avoid missing your international flight home.

Day 4

Today's trek will take about 5-6 hours as we walk through primordial forests of pine, leading along the Dudh Koshi River. You will cross the river in a series of suspension bridges. After a steep climb over Chhutara, we’ll get to see the first view of Mt. Everest (8,848m) over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. There are no roads here; everything comes into the region either on foot or by donkey trains. It is very possible we will see donkey trains along the way with their tinkling bells and colorful lead donkey. We reach Namche Bazaar for overnight rest. Stay in Yeti Mountain Home (a luxury lodge) with branches in both Phakding and Namche Bazaar.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 5

Namche Bazaar is the traditional capital of the Sherpa people as well as the administrative center of the Everest region. The village stands on a hill and features numerous restaurants, shops, souvenirs, and even an ATM, along with a bakery. Today we take a day's rest at Namche in order to acclimatize our bodies to the high elevation. If you are interested, hike to Khumjung village (3,786m) to explore monasteries and local Sherpa villages. Namche itself is a famous town with some modern facilities.

The highlight of the day is a hike to Everest View Hotel for the incredible Mt. Everest view. Enjoy your visit around and stay overnight. We will spend a second night in Yeti Mountain Home (a luxury lodge).

Meals included: lunch and dinner

Day 6

The trek continues today along the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Kosi with magnificent views of the mountains. When it comes to high mountain scenery, there is nothing else like it in the world. These mountains are the top of the world, and you’re heading there on this amazing journey. The trek will end at an altitude of 3,930 m / 12,893 ft. On reaching Tengboche, you will see the local Buddhist monastery. Inside, the monastery has incredibly ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. Stay in The Himalayan luxury lodge or a similar high-end facility.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 7

The morning hike will give an opportunity for great pictures of the famous Tengboche Monastery. This famous Buddhist monastery features Mt. Everest as a backdrop! Imagine how inspiring it would be to pray facing the world’s highest mountain. From Tengboche, we take the upper trail for great views as well as to see chortens and Mani Walls on the way to Pangboche village. The lunch place will offer a fine view of Mt. Ama Dablam. The second part of the trek is more moderate as we enter Imja Valley. In the final section, the path goes steeply up just before reaching Dingboche village (4,360m). We choose only the best available lodge with an attached bathroom. Don’t worry, we have reservations, so we will have the luxury place to spend the night in comfort.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 8

Today will be a rest day in Dingboche (4,410m) to allow the body to adjust to the altitude. Any trip to Everest Base Camp requires one to spend two acclimatization days in order to avoid Acute Mountain Sickness. Rather than taking a full rest, you will do a short walk to Nangkartshang Peak to help with the acclimatization process and also to see some beautiful views. From the lookout, you can see beautiful views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other Himalayan peaks. These are some of the highest peaks in the world, and they form the crown around Mt. Everest. After you have taken some time to roam around and take photographs, go down to Dingboche for your lunch and spend a quiet afternoon, getting ready for the next phase of the trek.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 9

Trek through an arid terrace along with an outstanding view of the valley and Mt. Pumori (7,138 m). The trail descends and crosses a fast-flowing stream on a wooden bridge. We will stop at Dugla for lunch. After a short rest, we’ll climb over the steep terminal moraine of Khumbu Glacier. It is also a day that will remind us of those who have died climbing Mt. Everest (8,848m), as prayer flags and stones have been erected in their memories. We’ll set our night stay at Lobuche. The best available lodge has a common bathroom (there is no attached bathroom). Lobuche is a bit more primitive than the other villages, but we know the best place in town for our stay. Great local food and wonderful hospitality.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 10

Today is the longest trekking day, but we’ll achieve our goal—Everest Base Camp. Walking through moraine and slippery trails might be difficult for some of you, but an incredible 360° mountain view inspires us to develop our strength. Celebrate and shoot an abundance of pictures of your breathtaking moment. Since there is no place to stay at Everest Base Camp, we return to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay. Best available lodge with a common bathroom. As at Lobuche, the food is great, along with wonderful hospitality.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 11

Today has another climax—Mt. Kala Patthar (5,545 m), a dramatic sunrise viewing point. Here, Mt. Everest is revealed in all of its glory. From Everest Base Camp, there is no good view of Mt. Everest. However, from Mt. Kala Patthar, you will see countless high peaks around us to enchant our eyes, offering the finest of photo opportunities. Spend some time and walk back to Gorak Shep. Thereafter, we’ll continue trekking back downhill to Pheriche for a good night's rest. Hotel Himalaya or Hotel Pumori with attached bathroom. We enjoyed outstanding food and hospitality at our hotel. Having an attached bathroom again is a wonderful luxury.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 12

We continue descending as we make our way to Namche Bazaar. The trail will take us across the Dudh Koshi River and along the Dudh Koshi gorge as it rapidly descends through the pine forests. There will be opportunities to see Himalayan Thar, pheasants, and other exotic wildlife that call this region home. We reach Namche Bazaar for an overnight stop today.

We’re back at Yeti Mountain Home with luxury rooms and outstanding cuisine.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 13

Morning breakfast is followed by the beginning of our final day of trek towards Lukla Valley. Enjoy superb views of landscapes and mountains to the far horizons. Also, you’ll have some time to chitchat with local Sherpa people. Overnight in Lukla. Yeti Mountain Home.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 14

Finally, a day with no trekking, as we’ll take a scenic morning flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we’re back at the Hotel Aloft and spend the rest of the day in luxury and relaxation. Do some last-minute shopping for your friends and families in Thamel. We have our final night to enjoy in Thamel, the tourist capital of Kathmandu, with its outstanding restaurants, nightclubs, and shopping opportunities.

Meal included: Breakfast only

Day 15

About 3 hours prior to your flight time, we transfer you to the airport to fly to your onward destination. Trekking Mart can offer you additional tours. We feature tours of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, India, and even safari tours of East Africa with our tourism partners that offer the same quality of service that you have come to expect from Trekking Mart.
