Langtang, Gosainkunda & Helambu Trekking: a perfect eco-trail route located north of Kathmandu valley. This trek covers full of natural and cultural wonders around the west part of 'Langtang National Park'. The journey is extended by the majestic Langtang valley, Kyanjin Gompa, the home of more than a dozen of Lakes:- Gosainkunda, the cultural hub:- Helambu region and many other superb landscapes. This trek is highly recommended for celebrating an adventure holiday in Nepal. It gives you the opportunities to face alpine environment, Himalayan islands and cultural integrity of this diversified country.

Detailed Itinerary


Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1330m), transfer to hotel.

Once you arrive in Kathmandu airport, our airport representative will meet you with warm reception. Then you will be transferred to the selected hotel by private vehicle & will have free time ahead. In the evening, you enjoy welcome dinner with Nepali cuisine and various cultural Dance presentations.

Day 02: Kathmandu stay and trek orientation

Breakfast is followed by half-day sightseeing of Kathmandu world heritage sites- Kathmandu Dubar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath stupa.You will be guided by a professional city guide. In the afternoon, you will do trek preparation and some pre-trip discussion. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,440m): 6 hours drive

By the early morning, our journey starts with drive to Syabrubesi. This 145km north place is our trek start point. During the travel we will pass by Trisuli Bazaar, Ramche, Dunche (1,960m) etc with somehow dancing road. The road goes by the edge of the Trisuli river and journey of this part is breathtaking both in terms of beauty and adventure. After the passes of various terraces, forests and amazing landforms, we reach to the lap of Langtang, i.e. Syabrubesi.

Day 04: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,470m): 5-6 hours

This is our first trekking day. Breakfast is followed by crossing several suspension bridges and dense forests of oak, bamboo and rhododendron along the Langtang Khola River. This part of trail is very rich in rare flora and fauna. This is the ancient habitat of world endanger Red Panda, wild Bears, yellow-throated Martens and many more. The beehive and hot spring could be the additional terms of attraction. By making heartily attachment with all these diversities, our trail goes up. The trail is up and down whole up to the Lama hotel but not much challenging.

Day 05: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley (3,430m): 5- 6 hours

Our today’s destination is Langtang valley (a heavenly site surrounded by the Mountains). After breakfast, Lama hotel will be back in our sight. Our gradual uphill and downhill trail offers us various ecological & geographical features, waterfalls, magnetic view of Langtang Lirung (7,227m) and many more. Moreover the trail head towards the valley by crossing the timberlines, praying wheels and many water driven mills. Our all these assets bring us to the langtang valley settled by Tibetan peoples. Overnight stay at local teahouse.

Day 06: Trek from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m): 4-5 hours

As soon as the trek starts, we pass through some small villages of stone-build houses. The path forwarded by the huge open lands surrounded by rocky hills. This whole area is famous for better taste of local Yak cheese and curd. During this day, we will observe the biggest Mani wall of Nepal. Today we will have short leg effort which allows us to enjoy the silver sparks & acclimatize the altitude. Our legs take rest by Kyanjin-Gompa where we spend the night.

Day 07: Kyanjin Gompa: hike day

Early morning we do hike to Tserko Ri (4,984m) to enjoy the picture line view whole Langtang range: Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Langtang Lirung (7,227m), Langtang I,II &III, Yansa Tsenji, Yala peak (5,500m) etc. The more attractions of the location are Kyanjin Ri (4,800m),Langtang glacier, Langtang lake and the local human settlement. Our guide will guide in and around the Kyanjin including local cheese factory, Kyanjin_Gompa amd surrounding. Night stay at local tea house.

Day 08: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2,230m): 5-6 hours

This day we back leg to Lama Hotel. As the trail covers mostly the down hills, we can easily cover the way of 2 days up just in 5-6 hours. All the way back we re-sight our eyes to all those fantastic mountain views and obviously we will. In the slippery downhill we suggested to descend slowly with necessary care. Night stay at Lama Hotel.

Day 09: Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2,230m): 5-6 hours

This day begins with downhill. We descend to the river of the base of green hills and start ascending to the next destination- Thulo Syabru. The trail goes along the dense bamboo forest(the famous food of Red Panda). Langtang himal & Garnish himal family are reflected in our eyes at the far. Overnight stay at local tea house of Thulo Syabru.

Day 10: Trek from Thulo Syabru to Shin Gomba (3,330m):3-5 hrs

By the starting of the day , our legs climb steep up to Dimsa village, by where the trail becomes gradually up. The path is whole inside of the thick fir, hemlock and rhododendron forest. From somewhere by the open sky we will observe Langtang & Ganesh himal. This wonderful way destines us to the next destination - Shin Gompa. Overnight stay at local lodge.

Day 11: Trek from Shin Gomba to Gosainkunda (4,460m): 5-6 hours

Initially the trail forwards by gentle ascend out of the Shin gompa. This dramatic uphill offer us to enjoy the majestic view of Manaslu and Ganesh range through the forested area. This alpine environment is core habitat for Red panda and Cat Bear especially in between the area of Shin Gompa and Laurebianayak (3,910m). This narrow path constantly directs us to the land of lakes- Gosainkunda. This home of about a dozen lakes is our today’s night place.

Day 12: Trek from Gosainkunda to Gopte (3,440m): 6-8 hours

This day gives us a bit more challenges. The trail covers uphill with rocks and rough moraines. By the continuous ascends and passing of some most lovely lakes, we tend to cross the Laurebina La pass(4,610m). The pass is followed by downhill to Phedi and more way gradual up and down. The tree lines of rhododendron and pine show us the distinct way to Ghopte.

Day 13: Trek from Gopte to Malemchigaon (2,560m):6-7 hours

We descend through the sub-tropical forest and it continues by climbing over dry river-sides straight up to the Kharka and again to the Thare Pati. This spontaneous up and down along the narrow path gives us the chance to understand the super nature. Our simply the best way bring us down to the Melamchi river and plus steps to Malemchigaun to break today’s journey.

Day 14: Trek from Malemchigaon to Tarke Gyang (2,590m): 5-7 hours

Today we forward to Helambu region. This day changes our experience level from nature to culture. Our walking strength leads us to Tarke Gyang where we get the opportunity to enjoy Sherpa culture and their lifestyle. Their preserved traditional houses are completely the new things for us to see. Night stay at local lodge.

Day 15: Trek from Tarke Gyang to Sermathang (2,610m): 3-5 hrs

The dramatic villages of Helambu hides by the forests as we walk through. As soon as we escape out of the thick forests, we meet Parachin & Gangyul –two more Sherpa villages. This cultural hub region follows Buddhism and some are of Bhutanese origin also. Overnight stay in Sermathang (2,610m). l

Day 16: Trek form Sermathang to Melamchi Pool Bazaar and drive to Kathmandu: 3-4 hours trek; 2 hour drive

This is our last trekking day. Breakfast is followed by short descend to Malemchi Pool Bazaar (870m). Our vehicle will be there to pick up you to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will transfer to the hotel & have free time ahead before farewell dinner.

Day 17: Departure transfer

At about 3 hours prior to your flight time, we transfer you to the airport to fly your onward destination. Trekking Mart family wishes your best time ahead. Meal inlcuded: Breakfast.
